Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare is certainly a title that is receiving a lot of attention, much like its predecessors. This time however, Call Of Duty Advanced Warfare seems to be going in a new direction, by bringing a brand new style of gameplay to the franchise, all down to its brand new engine.

In a recent interview with Sledgehammers Michael Conrey in May’s Edition of Game Informer, new details have been revealed in regards to a new engine and some brand new screenshots. Sledgehammer Games have stated that Advanced Warfare has a brand new engine; this however may or may not cause some concern for veteran Call Of Duty players.  In the latest edition of Edge Magazine, Michael Condrey the chief operating and development officer of Sledgehammer, has clarified what the engine is and how it works.

Condrey has described that the team at Sledgehammer has built the majority of the engine from scratch, meaning some of the previous engines details will remain.

Condrey says, “Although what the studio means by ‘new’ in this context isn’t what the internet means when it complains about the old COD engine.

Condrey, has stated that Advanced Warfare, still has lines of old code from previous engines, however enough has been built from scratch to make it almost unrecognisable.

“We have new rendering, animation, physics and audio systems”

Even though it might not be a completely new engine, it’s hard to say that the game isn’t looking slightly different, as we haven’t seen any in-game gameplay footage yet, so it is hard to tell how different this title will be. Here’s hoping that it will be as good as Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare or Call of DutyModern Warfare 2.
