Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare reveal trailer, features Modern Warfare Remastered footage!

Activision has now officially let the cat out of the bag with the debut trailer for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and it looks awesome! I’ll be the first to admit, as much as I want a WWI or WWII setting, or even Vietnam, I was originally very sceptical on the rumoured sci-fi setting. But with the build up to this reveal trailer with all the leaks, it was slowly but surely winning me over.

The trailer confirms pretty much all that we suspected, it is set in the future, the potential bad buy that appeared in a trailer and on the Nuk3town map from Black Ops III yesterday is the leader of a group called the Settlement Defence Front.  The gameplay trailer perhaps indicates that the SDF are from the future (which could mean time travel) and not only do they want to “rip us from the history books”, but it looks like they want to invade and take over our planet.

It’s not the first time that Call of Duty has featured a futuristic setting, as we’ve been here somewhat before with Black Ops II, Black Ops III and Advanced Warfare, we’ve even been in space with the opening of Call of Duty: Ghosts.  But Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare looks to take that aspect to the next level, with all out space dogfight battles.  I just hope that the dogfight sections let us have free control over our ship, almost like what we had in Halo 4, but I think the likelihood is that they will be on the rails, as we’ve seen before in previous games.

It will also feature a co-op Zombies campaign with a new story and gameplay mechanics, more details are expected to be revealed at a later date. However, it does seem a little strange that Infinity Ward would use the Zombies formula, which is normally something associated with developers Treyarch, though Sledgehammer Games did have a Zombies campaign in Advanced Warfare.  Much like Black Ops 3, Infinite Warfare will also have 30 day exclusivity to the map packs released.

Below are some glorious screenshots for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare for you to indulge:

The gameplay trailer also confirms the official release date of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare which is November 4th 2016.  At the end of the trailer it also treats us to some gameplay footage of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered and it looks fantastic.  As the leaks revealed, Modern Warfare Remastered will be included in the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Legacy Edition and will feature 10 multiplayer maps from the beloved classic.  Let’s just hope that Activision announce the rumoured Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Trilogy next.  Modern Warfare: Remastered will be handled by developers Raven Software, who have a rich history in the industry and have been working on Call of Duty titles since 2010.
