Capcom has revealed the Deluxe Edition content for the Resident Evil 2 remake.  In total there will be five alternative costumes, two for Leon and three for Claire, Albert Wesker’s Samurai Edge handgun,  a retro soundtrack swap and a reversible cover for the physical copy of the game.

Considering that it only costs £10 to upgrade from the standard edition to the deluxe, this content shows that it is well worth that investment.  For starters, the three Claire Redfield outfits include a Noir and military outfit and interestingly, an Elza Walker outfit from the cancelled version of Resident Evil 2, better known as Resident Evil 1.5.  This for me personally, this is the centrepiece of all the DLC outfits.

Then for Leon S. Kennedy, he also has a Noir outfit, giving Leon a very distinct Sebastian Castellanos vibe from The Evil Within, and the second outfit is the Arklay Sheriff, which very much looks like the early version of Rick Grimes from The Walking Dead.

However, that is not all, because the retro soundtrack swap allows you to swap the modern in-game soundtrack of the remake with the original soundtrack of Resident Evil 2 of 1998, which is awesome!  Finally, those that pick-up the physical Deluxe Edition will have the choice of two covers, one featuring Leon S. Kennedy and the other featuring Claire Redfield.  Sometimes Deluxe Edition content can be a little “meh”,  but for the extra £10 that it will cost to upgrade, this is a no-zombie-brainer.

Resident Evil 2 will release for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on January 25th, 2019.

Oh and before you go, a whole host of previews have released that shows another new version of a classic RE2 monster.  But for me, WAY too much is being revealed for this game, so I’m not going to show any of that here from now on as I want some surprises for when the game releases.  But if you want to check it out, a quick internet search will do the trick.
