Classic 90’s Point and Click Adventure, Blade Runner is Getting Remastered

In the 90’s, the point and click style game was at the peak of its genre with the likes of The Secret of Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle and Grim Fandango, all of which would receive remasters on the modern day console.  However, one game from that era that has been since left behind, is fellow classic point and click adventure, Blade Runner, a spin-off from the 1982 Ridley Scott movie.

Originally released in 1997 by Westwood Studios, while this Blade Runner game didn’t follow the movie directly, it was of course inspired by it and some of the movies characters and locations would appear.  In this Blade Runner adaptation, it will follow the story of detective, Ray McCoy as he would be tasked to track down replicants throughout Los Angeles in 2019, similar to that of Harrison Ford’s Rick Deckard.

The remastered Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition will be handled by Nightdive Studios in partnership with Alcon Entertainment.  It will feature updated character models and animations, up-scaled cut-scenes, widescreen resolution support, keyboard and mouse customisation and more.

Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition will release for PC via Steam, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch later this year.
