By now most of us will know that Sledgehammer Games will be developing Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One.  But until now we’ve not know exactly who will be developing the game for the PS3 and Xbox 360, we’ve not even been sure as to whether the last gen will be getting Advanced Warfare or a separate Call of Duty title.

Worry no more last gen owners, because it has been confirmed that Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will also be releasing for the PS3 and Xbox 360.  It was revealed after Sledgehammer Games co-founders Glen Schofield and Michael Condrey spoke to Game Informer.  Though it is not so great news for CoD Wii U owning fans, as the Wii U will not be seeing a Call of Duty game this year.  This is a double bombshell for Nintendo fans, as this week Ubisoft confirmed that the Wii U would also not be getting an Assassin’s Creed this year.

The Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare for the PS3 and Xbox 360 however will not be developed by Sledgehammer Games, but rather High Moon Studios.  I have no doubts that the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions are in safe hands with High Moon Studios, as they did a cracking job in developing the Transformer Cybertron games.

Here’s what Glen Schofield and Michael Condrey had to say in regards to High Moon Studios taking the reins for the last gen instalment of Advanced Warfare:

Our focus is on innovation for the franchise, unrestricted by last generation hardware constraints, and the additional third year of development has allowed the team to make bold decisions to deliver on a new era in Advance Warfare,“.

They also said that the development by High Moon Studios is “going to be great“.

The duo then added “They are committed to bringing an incredible X360 and PS3 Call of Duty game to fans,“, then they followed with “We’ve been working closely with those guys to ensure players get an awesome Call of Duty experience on all platforms.

Personally I can see good logic in having two teams working on each generation version of Advanced Warfare, as this method has already seemed to work well for EA’s Titanfall and Ubisoft have also adopted the same approach with Assassin’s Creed: Unity (PC, PS4, Xbox One) and Assassin’s Creed: Rogue (PS3, Xbox 360).

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will release on November 4th (or the 3rd for those that pre-order the Day Zero Edition) for the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
