Today, acclaimed German publisher Daedalic Entertainment announced the first DLC release for their recent turn-based RPG title, Blackguards.
Planned for release on March 4th 2014, Untold Legends will follow the background and heritage of Takate, the former slave and arena fighter, who joins the player’s party in chapter 2 of the Blackguards. Takate’s home is in the foothills of the rainforests in Southern Aventuria, where most of the native people of the Moha originate from. Players will learn how Takate became a slave gladiator, and get the chance to take revenge on all the slavers that caused so much pain for him throughout much of his life.
Untold Legends will feature seven new quests across ten new battle maps. A new “proving ground” map will be added where players can test strategies, skills, and items. In addition to these, four new weapons have been added to the game as well as 25 songs to the soundtrack. The DLC is not yet visible on the Blackguards Steam Store page, however an update posted today noted it will be available at a price point of €4.99 / $5.99 / £3.99 directly through Steam. Players who already bought the Contributor Edition during the Early Access of the game will get this first DLC for free.

At the same time as the Untold Legends DLC release, Daedalic will be releasing patch 1.3 for the original Blackguards game. The patch is set to make major improvements to the game’s balancing system, allowing players better insights into their characters’ hit chances, and how to improve them. Showing the Hit Chance during battle is no longer dependent on the Warcraft and Animal Lore Talents, so players will always know the odds of success when choosing among normal, and special attacks. In battle the game will now display a full battle log, including all dice rolls to allow the player full transparency of all events while in combat., meaning you can raise your arms and curse the R&G Gods every time you roll a 14 on a 15 Difficulty Check.
