The very first details of From Software’s Dark Souls 3 have been leaked. The title has recently been touted to make an appearance at Sony’s conference during E3 later this month, but it seems the details have let slip a little too early.

The details come from a video released by The Know, which states that Dark Souls 3 will be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2016, with a PC port still up for discussion. The 3rd entry in the franchise is reportedly set to introduce some new mechanics and concepts that deviate somewhat from the conventions of previous games.

At first glance, Dark Souls 3 seems to bear much resemblance to Bloodborne. Adopting the same macabre environmental design, but infusing it with the medieval fantasy style the Souls games are so renowned for.

Dark Souls 3 will apparently introduce some interesting new concepts. One of these being the option to sacrifice enemies in order to invade other player’s worlds or construct a bomb-fire. This could add more leniency to the methods of fast travel in the game as well as expanding upon the popular PvP options from previous games.

It will also support 1-4 players, suggesting that more players than ever can be summoned to assist in more difficult scraps. The leak itself looks relatively legitimate (though it is from the same guys that kicked off the very quickly quashed Microsoft/Silent Hills rumour), although we’ll be sure to keep you updated if we find out anything more.
