Dean ‘Rocket’ Hall, creator of the popular ARMA II mod DayZ, has released another devblog video highlighting some interesting new features of the upcoming standalone edition:

The video presents some significant improvements over the original mod, with a more organic scavenging system, richer environments, an improved vaulting animation, and a massive increase in zombie population. The zombies are also now spawned centrally on the server, meaning that the world will be populated before you enter trigger areas, and the way zombies track your movement when chasing you has been completely overhauled. Yay for no more crazy zig-zagging zombies!
