Dead Island 2 – Debut Gameplay Trailer & Screenshots

 

Gamescom kicks-off today and one of the most anticipated games on show will be Dead Island 2, with the tease of the debut gameplay trailer being revealed.  Well wait no longer, because that gameplay trailer has been released and it’s looking gruesomely fantastic.

With the latest instalment now being developed by Spec-Ops: The Line developers Yager, it promises to be the best game in the series yet, which isn’t that hard to beat considering how buggy the previous two games were.  Dead Island 1 and Riptide were developed by Techland, who are now working on another zombie apocalyptic survival horror game with Dying Light, also scheduled to release next year.

Dead Island 2 will pick up several months after the events of Dead Island 1 and Riptide, and will now be set in sunny California, rather than a tropical holiday resort island.  With Yager at the helm, Dead Island 2 could very well be the game that fans have longed for.  We’ll have to wait until next year to see how the game pans out, but in the mean time checkout the awesome debut gameplay trailer and screenshots below.
