DiRT 4 Special Editions announced, new developer diary video released
Codemasters and Koch Media have announced that there will be a number of editions available for the forthcoming DiRT 4. A ‘Day One Edition’ will be available which includes an exclusive Hyundai R5 rally car, a “unique event” which takes place on June 9th, 10th and the 11th only, as well as a Founder Icon. This Day One Edition will also be available with the option of having a snazzy SteelBook to boot. Also exclusive to Game in the UK will be a Special Edition which includes all Day One Edition content with a added Team Booster Pack which grants you unique team, staff and facilities bonuses.
One of the biggest new features of DiRT 4 will be Your Stage, a new stage creation system that will allow you to customise tracks, stages, weather conditions and time of day. You will then be able to upload your DiRT 4 creation for the online community to take on to achieve the best time possible.
The Chief Game Designer on DiRT 4 Paul Coleman had this to say on Your Stage:
Your Stage is something that we have been working on since the launch of DiRT 3 in 2011. It allows players to generate an almost infinite variety of stages at all of the rally locations in DiRT 4. It’s a revelation as now our players will get the thrill of driving a new stage whenever they want.”
“It is extremely simple for you to create a stage but, behind the scenes, we have an extraordinarily complex series of rules and algorithms that put these routes together. Your Stage creates such a huge variety of routes, some that we would never have thought of crafting before, and they’re amazing to drive.

DiRT 4 will release from June 9th for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
