Dirt To Return To Its Colin McRae Roots & Next Gen Game On The Way?

I’ve been a fan of Codemasters Colin McRae series since the very beginning and like many, right on through to the acclaimed Dirt series. But while I enjoyed the Dirt games, I missed the pure Rally sim that the series once was, so much so that I totally skipped the last instalment in Dirt: Showdown. Don’t get me wrong, I appreciated many of the new features and modes in the Dirt series, but in the back of my mind I was wishing for the franchise to go back to its roots.

I know there are a lot of fans that love the Dirt series of late, but I know there are also a lot of gamers that share my thoughts.  So when one Dirt gamer quizzed the Chief Game Designer of the Dirt series at Codemasters via Twitter by asking “Can the next Dirt game please be more Rally orientated?” Paul Coleman of Codemasters replied “Yes it can and it will.

Paul Coleman also tweeted just today, hinting at the Dirt series being a next gen instalment.
