During PAX of last week, Bethesda executive was interviewed by Tek Syndicate, during the video seen below, Bethesda’s Pete Hines talks about the forthcoming games set to release by the studio this year, which includes the likes of Wolfenstein: The New Colossus, The Evil Within 2, Skyrim on the Switch among others.  Well if his “rambling” is to be believed, Bethesda might just have an unannounced game set to release this year that seemingly none of us knew about.

After mentioning the games set to release this year that we do know about, Hines said (as seen at around the 2.40 mark in the video below) “We even have a game coming out this year that we haven’t even told anyone about yet. They can wait, it won’t be so long.”  So when Tek Syndicate presses him on this potential reveal, Hines then decides to be tight lipped after dropping the tease by saying “I’m not telling you. It’s a good try, I’m just not telling you.

After his bombshell sunk in and the news started to do the rounds, Peter Hines then tried to back-track on what he had said on Twitter, though if this was just mere “rambling” as he put it, that’s one hell of a choice bunch of words too just let slip out.

In my opinion, I believe that Peter Hines realised that he messed up and poorly attempted to cover his words.  However, it’s no secret that Bethesda are one of the worst companies for keeping secrets, with a rich history of big games being leaked.  So, if this unannounced game is set to release this year, unless Bethesda has done a remarkable job keeping the secret (despite Hines slip of the tongue), I’d be shocked if it was a game to the calibre of the studios biggest games, but I could be wrong.  We’ll of course keep you posted when we hear more.
