The lucky folks at QuakeCon got a very early glimpse at the rebooted Doom, while the footage was not shown outside of those doors, details were still leaked (unfortunately there was no gameplay footage) and you can check them out here.  In the linked article it also stated that more will be shown next year, well now those leaked details regarding a 2015 reveal have been confirmed after Bethesda VP of PR & Marketing Peter Hines spoke to PC Gamer.

When Peter Hines was asked as to when we might see a public reveal, he stated that it will be “2015”.  This is really disappointing for those not in attendance at QuakeCon who desperately want to see the footage that they seen, but hey what can we do?

Peter Hines explained the decision to keep the reveal exclusively behind closed doors at QuakeCon by saying:

I really wanted to put something out there that, in a strong way, said, ‘id is working on something that we think is really cool,” And “we wanted … to show something to (the fans) that gives them the confidence that it is still a viable studio that’s doing really cool stuff, that is making a game you want to play, and is treating Doom with the care and respect that you want.

And now we’re going to go away and go back to making the game, but to be able to counter other people talking about us and we’re sort of just sitting here staying silent, or operating from this negative space of like, ‘Oh, it got rebooted, oh it’s in trouble.’ All of that stuff just bothered the hell out of me.

No release date has been given for Doom, but judging by the next reveal not being planned until next year, I wouldn’t hold your breath.  But what we do know is that it will release for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One, and those that purchased Wolfenstein: The New Order will be granted access to the Doom beta.
