#E3: Mortal Kombat X – First Screenshots Released

During E3 we got the first glimpse at some very impressive gameplay footage for Mortal Kombat X, for the benefit of link clicking I’ll include the trailer in here for you (as seen above), just in case you missed it.  So this brings us on to today with the first batch of screenshots being released by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and NetherRealm Studios.

In the first images released we see series veterans Scorpion and Sub-Zero, as well as some new additions to the franchise, which also featured in the E3 gameplay trailer.  We have D’Vorah a deadly female fighter that has the ability to control insects and worms; I can just imagine how gross her fatality will be.  We also have Ferra & Torr; Ferra is a huge warrior that has a little girl (Torr) sitting on his back.  Something tells me that these two will be quite the evil and gruesome pairing.

Interestingly another new character in Mortal Kombat X will be Cassie Cage, the daughter of none other than Jonny Cage and Sonya Blade.  I can already guess that she’ll be all sorts of awesome.  Also following the E3 gameplay reveal, the folks at Playstation got a chance to speak to Mortal Kombat series co-creator and director at NetherRealm Studios Ed Boon, you can find that interview below, along with the stunning new screenshots.

Mortal Kombat X will release for the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox One and Xbox 360 next year.
