#E32015 Fallout 4 Release Date Announced & Pip-Boy Edition Revealed
Fallout 4 was unleashed upon the world at E3 and with it not only came a new gameplay footage, but a whole host of customisation details, and a release date announcement too. Oh I almost forgot that amongst all the excitement, a collector’s edition was revealed that comes with a wearable Pip-Boy!
First up let’s begin with the release date. Fallout 4 will release for PC, PS4 and Xbox One on November 10th 2015.
During Bethesda’s E3 conference, Bethesda Game Studio chief Todd Howard took to the stage to reveal all of Fallout 4’s juicy details. He begun by saying that the development of the game began way back in 2009, which took me by surprise, even with the alleged Fallout 4 leaks over the recent years.
As some of us suspected with the reveal trailer a little over a week ago, we will play the game prior to the catastrophic apocalyptic event. Details on the character customisation were also revealed, which includes both male and female (there were rumours that it would be male only). This is where the gameplay demonstration begins as you sculpt your character likeness by looking into a mirror, before the game creates a baby based upon the couple you create. Then you see your created couple and their baby watching the TV as the apocalyptic bomb threat is announced.
Then following the Earth destroying bomb, you emerge from Vault 111 around 200 years later! I would assume there would be some sort of cryo chamber involvement somewhere, and then you meet up with your trusty dog sidekick as you begin to explore your surroundings. Fans of previous games will also be pleased to know that the V.A.T.S systems makes its return (it would be odd without it to be honest), but as well as being a handy tool to aid your survival in the wasteland, it also comes equipped with some mini-games to help pass on the time when exploring.
If that wasn’t enough, the crafting in Fallout 4 has been taken to a whole new level. As not only can you craft items to make into standard materials, but you can also build structures and settlements, as well as terminals that can connect to a power grid. Obviously the wasteland is a dangerous place, so you’ll also need to build defensive objects such as turrets to defend yourself from mutants and raiders alike. Weapon crafting will also make an appearance in Fallout 4, in the crafting video below; it reveals that there will be 50 base weapons, with more than 700 mods.
