Following leaks, Dead Rising 4 was officially announced at the Microsoft Conference and they revealed that it will release this Fall for both Xbox One and Windows 10.  Further details are set to be revealed during the summer.

It was also confirmed that the setting will be located in the original location of the first game, in Willamette, Colorado.  However, it was suspected that the game will be a reboot, but it will in-fact be set 16 years after the events of the original Dead Rising, which also explains why returning protagonist Frank West looks a little different.  According to details on the Xbox Wire, “a mysterious outbreak has overrun the Willamette Memorial Megaplex Mall and surrounding town with deadly predators,”.  We also know that the game will be running on the Unreal Engine 4.

Once again Frank will be on a mission to uncover the truth behind the outbreak, but this time the zombies will be deadlier than ever before.  Thankfully Frank will be armed with a powerful Exo suit that will literally rip the zombie scum in half!  They also confirmed that Dead Rising 4 will be playable with up to four other players during its campaign.

Interestingly, the words “exclusive” were never used during its presentation, so I wouldn’t rule out this being a timed exclusive with the possibility of it coming to PS4, watch this space as they say.

Dead Rising 4 will release for Xbox One and Windows 10 this Fall.  Also, be sure to check out the announcement trailer below, the huge batch of new screenshots and two awesome gifs.  Oh and there’s 14-minutes of gameplay footage to enjoy.
