#E32018 The Elder Scrolls 6 Has Been Announced, Along with New Mobile Game

Bethesda has announced The Elder Scrolls 6 which is currently in development right now at Bethesda Game Studios.  However, given the fact that the Elder Scrolls games of big on scale and depth, don’t expect it to release anytime soon.  In fact, during the teaser trailer seen below, there was no word of platforms, so it wouldn’t surprise me if this is a next gen title, which would likely result in a two year wait minimum, though I’m sure it will surpass that.  None the less, at least we have confirmation that the game is in development.

There was also some further Elder Scrolls news as The Elder Scrolls: Blades was announced as a free-to-play, first-person mobile game and to be fair, it looks quite decent.  Blades will make use of the mobile touch-screen functions to control the game and will support both landscape and portrait orientation.  It will have a big world to explore with the traditional RPG mechanics.

Blades will have three different modes in total, Town, which is its main story mode, Abyss, a survival, endless, roguelike dungeon mode and finally Arena, where you battle with other players online one-on-one.

While The Elder Scrolls: Blades will initially be a mobile game, Bethesda does have plans to release it eventually on consoles and PC, so hopefully that will mean a Nintendo Switch release too.  All in all, for a mobile game it all sounds and looks quite promising.

And finally before we leave, the mobile spin-off, free-to-play card game, The Elder Scrolls Legends was announced to be arriving to PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch later this year.  If you’ve already played this game on PC and mobile, your progress will carry over via your Bethesda.net account.
