The Medium was easily one of the highlights of the InsideXbox event, introducing us to another ambitious title by the Krakow based studio Bloober, who had recently made the Blair Witch game. One of the most surprising reveal regarding that was that the legendary composer behind the Silent Hill series, Akira Yamaoka himself will be lending his talents to the game.

The most interesting thing about the music is that they are taking a Dual Approach with it, especially since two amazing composers are involved, with the other being Bloober Team’s Arkadiusz Reikowski. Since the game will have two different types of environments, very much like Silent Hill, different musical elements and style will be present for each, truly immersing you in the uniqueness of each side.

The game itself will follow a medium called Marianne, a woman who is hounded by supernatural visions, allowing her to see the hidden side of the world.

“Every one of our games has a central theme that drives its creative and technological design. In The Medium, we focus on perspective and perception. When you change your point of view, you discover that things are more complicated and nuanced than you initially thought”, said Piotr Babieno, CEO at Bloober Team.

“The Medium is our most ambitious game ever and we can’t wait to show you how we’re translating this vision into a psychological horror.” The Medium will initially launch for the Xbox Series X and PC during Holiday 2020.
