In this post I will give you a little look at what I thought of the new Crysis 3 Demo and DmC: Devil May Cry at EuroGamer 2012.

  •  Crysis 3

Well this was by far the best looking game at the show. My eyes were subjected a world of sharp, super real combat. I found the simulation I was in very real and the game play easy to follow. Gun response times were good and compared to other games like Halo or CoD, and I feel it has a good niche away from your usual “OMG KILL STREAKZZZZ!” kind of play through. In other words it’s actually good and not a pile of repetitive drivel. We got a glimpse at some robotic enemies where in a player can control a Jeff Wayne’s War of The Worlds type machine and go crazy with an assortment of heavy death makers. Harder to beat and very, very cool. The only qualm I had and this maybe because it was ONLY a demo, the weapons weren’t THAT easy to find. So careful with that you maybe stuck with your generic guns if your not best at hunting for new ones.

  • DmC: Devil May Cry

Devil May Cry. Well if this wasn’t a big one for me I don’t know what was. I have had a literally opinionated roller-coaster going through amazing to not so amazing. The new Devil May Cry, was it good? Should we even look at the other games before it? In all honesty I went in there not too chuffed from what I had seen through trailers and teasers. I came out of the demo loving it. Well done! This demo showed me some classic Dante moves and in an environment that I felt interested in what the heck I had to do next. It wasn’t immediately easy either. I found the button combos in this a beautiful thing, they are introduced to you for certain simple tasks and for crushing certain bad guys. It gave an advanced gamer an edge within combat situations while making sure it wasn’t totally bonkers that a non avid gamer could do it by button mashing. Alright, I don’t like how new Dante looks. But I know a lot of people who do. Maybe a physical show of perfection and a 1000 dollar hair cut are what people want in a half demon killing machine? Meh. I would of liked to have heard Dante talk more. I feel a little curious as to storyline as it didn’t throw too much out about that. You start as Dante wandering around a Italian city, I think. Then there’s this girl who vanishes and re-appears and you can walk through her as if she’s a ghost all the mean while exploring what controls you have to use and how to beat the heck out of enemies. This gets increasingly more hectic and difficult showcasing 4 or 5 different enemies and a range of obstacles. I asked before should you look at the other games in regards to this one? Well I think it’s always a good thing if you have played at least 1 & 3  just because they are THAT good. But here it doesn’t give you any major advantages as controls are different. It’s nice to know the set up of a DmC game as orbs are still there and destructible environments litter the way ready to be pummelled. If you were to start out not knowing the other other games I don’t think it would hurt however you would miss out on any references to the old games with little Easter eggs or moves or weapons they may or may not throw in. All in all I can not WAIT to see and play this game.

I thought I would treat you to some extra snaps I took at EuroGamer this year including shots of the Wii U and of the new PS3 aswell as a sneaky shot of the character selection of Dead or Alive 5.

See you next time and we will take a look at DOOM 3: BFG Edition and New Super Mario Bros. U
