F1 2020 by Codemasters Announced, Potentially Based Upon a Season that Never Was

Codemasters has announced the release date for F1 2020 and during these unprecedented times with the Coronavirus pandemic, with this F1 series being based upon its real-life season, F1 2020 could be the first sports game based upon a season that never finished.

With this year’s release, it will introduce the My Team mode, which will allow you to create your very own team to compete against real-world established teams and drivers, which should be interesting and it will offer a “driver-manager” experience.  In My Team you’ll also be able to adjust the season length with 22, 16 and 10 race seasons.

F1 2020 will include the Hanoi Circuit and Circuit Zandvoort, this year’s release will also see the return of two-player split-screen multiplayer, as well as both F1 and F2 competitions.

At launch you’ll be able to pick-up either the Deluxe Schumacher Edition based upon the legendary Michael Schumacher and it will include four of his most iconic cars, such as the Jordan 191 (1991), Benetton B194 (1994), Benetton B195 (1995) and the Ferrari F1-2000 (2000), this edition will also come with a unique Schumacher podium celebration.  There will also be the Seventy Edition (basically the standard version) and regardless of which version of F1 2020 you pre-order, you will receive a set of in-game items including a car livery, podium celebration, helmet, race suit, gloves, boots and a player badge.

F1 2020 will release for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Google Stadia on July 7th, however, if you pre-order anything other than the more pricy Deluxe Schumacher Edition, you will receive the game three days later on July 10th.
