As you may or may not know, the beloved classic Outcast received a Kickstarter in order to come back in full force as an HD Reboot, while retaining all the elements that made it so liked in the first place. Unfortunately the game is still shy of its goal with only 13 days remaining, but the good news is we have gotten the first gameplay prototype video. Do note that only the environments were re-rendered and the character models used are the classic ones.

If you don’t remember the game, it was a very memorable adventure that revolved around agent Cutter, a former U.S. Navy SEAL Operative. Basically, In 2007, the U.S. government successfully sends a probe to an alien world in a parallel universe. As the probe is transmitting video images of the world, an alien life form discovers the probe and damages it, causing a disruptive backlash of energy to form a black hole threatening Earth. Former U.S. Navy SEAL Cutter Slade is given the job of escorting three scientists (William Kauffmann, Anthony Xue and Marion Wolfe) on a mission to this alien world to recover the probe and stop the threat. Arriving in this alien world, Cutter is separated from the other scientists and is hailed by the natives as their messiah, the Ulukai.

Lastly check out the new gameplay below and support it on Kickstarter if you want to see it happen! Also the music was absolutely amazing in the original game, and I can’t wait for the update. Also the game was pretty much the Avatar of videogames in terms of storyline and setting.
