As with all maps released that are included in the season pass, they will be available as and when you choose.  None season pass owners will be able to play them via the public playlist on a rotation basis.  However, if your friend owns the season pass, you can join them in their game if invited.  In total 24 maps will release, with 2 arriving per month and the first two maps will be Checkout, which you may remember from Gears of War 3 and other is called Drydock.  Both maps will be playable during competitive multiplayer modes and for Horde 3.0.

Below you can check out the details on the two new maps, as well as two ‘Flythrough’ videos.  You can also read our review of Gears of War 4 here, a game in which the torch is passed to a new generation of characters, but retains the high standard that is expected of the series.

Checkout

Revisit the iconic supermarket in Cole’s hometown of Hanover 25 years after the events of Gears of War 3 in this Legacy Map. Much like the rest of Sera, nature is reclaiming whatever it can following the Locust Wars, but that hasn’t slowed the fast, furious and frenetic combat that takes place between the checkout lanes and the electronics department.

Drydock

Transported from a COG ship building facility to a ship breaking scrap yard on a Seran mudflat, this fan favourite returns with a vengeance to Gears of War 4 Versus Multiplayer and Horde modes.

*In addition to the release of these fan favourite maps, tune into Xbox Wire on November 1 for a sneak peek at the Run the Jewels “Air Drop” featuring playable Killer Mike and EL-P characters for Versus Multiplayer and Horde.
