Five Epic Collector’s Editions for 2016

This year brings us some brand new IPs as well as returning franchises we all love; from Quantum Break to Fire Emblem Fates and Horizon: Zero Dawn to Dead Island 2. With new releases comes the added bonus of Special Editions with exclusive content, art books, statues, DVD’s and much more.

Here at PushStartPlay we’ve scouted out five of the current Collector’s Editions available from your favourite retailers. Which will you be purchasing?

The Collector’s Edition for the latest instalment of the Horror FPS, Doom, includes a 12” tall exclusive statue of the game’s demon; the Revenant. The statue stands on an LED-lit base with an internal slow-spinning function. Consumers will also receive a copy of the game in an exclusive metal case with artwork of the iconic demon from the game. Doom will be released on 13/05/2016 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

The reboot-sequel, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is EA’s latest open-world action-adventure game and see’s DICE develop this unique free-running experience. The Collector’s Edition of the game includes a 14” tall statue of Faith as an Adult and Youngster, and exclusive steelbook. Consumers will also receive an exclusive lithograph, 10 concept art cards and temporary tattoos packaged in a collector’s storage box. Mirror’s Edge Catalyst will be released on 26/05/2016 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

The PlayStation 4 exclusive, No Man’s Sky, offers a stunning yet somewhat pricey Limited Edition which includes a steelbook, Adventures in No Man’s Sky exclusive Comic, a 48-page art book, a dynamic PS4 theme and bonus in-game downloadable content. No Man’s Sky will be released on 24/06/2016 for PlayStation 4.

Overwatch is the latest game from Blizzard Entertainment, a multiplayer first-person shooter. Blizzard have stepped away from their high fantasy genre and have developed this squad based shooter. Like their true dedication to MMO’s, they do not skimp on this Collector’s Edition. Alongside a copy of the game, players will receive a 32cm Soldier 76 statue, a steelbook DVD case, a 175-page visual source book, a 21-track soundtrack and 12 unique art cards. Overwatch is set for release on 24/05/2016 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Last but not least, Naughty Dog’s latest and last instalment of the PS4 exclusive gives Uncharted 4 a bulky Collector’s Edition full of wonderful goodies. Players will get a 12” premium Nathan Drake statue, a 48-page art book, stickers, a collectable steelbook, a PS4 dynamic theme and multiplayer outfits, weapon skins, Naughty Dog Points as well as other bonus in-game content. Uncharted 4 is set for release on 10/05/2016. for PlayStation 4.
