Ubisoft’s latest rhythm game, Rocksmith 2014 Edition, has a new trailer focusing on their ‘Session Mode’, giving the player an opportunity to lead an artificially intelligent band. The virtual band, which can be customized through over 75 different Session Mode instruments, adapts to the player’s riffing, dynamically taking into account the style and speed you play at.

Session Mode is also available in multiplayer mode allowing two players to jam together along with the AI counterparts.

Judging by this short promo video, the feature looks very interesting and responsive with an expert playing. For an amateur such as myself, it looks a little daunting, but very interesting. This could be a tool that may revolutionise and revitalise the genre, especially from a musician’s point of view.

Rocksmith 2014 Edition will hit shelves on October 18th in in North America and October 25th in the UK on Xbox 360, PS3, PC and Mac OS.
