A free update for Metro Exodus dubbed the “Ranger Update” is now live, which adds a host of new features and modes such as a New Game+, as well as some general bug fixes and improvements.  Not only will the New Game+ let you carry over all your weapons and attachments for a new playthrough, but you’ll even be able to customise some modifiers and more.  The update will also add new Achievements and Trophies to earn.

The update will also bring developer commentary, but with a twist.  Rather than hearing developer commentary run from start to finish during certain segments, you can activate the developer commentary by finding special tapes hidden throughout the world.  There are also format specific improvements such as improved RTX and DLSS support for PC, DualShock controller light support and mouse & keyboard support for Xbox One.

Additionally there will be new environmental features including Real-Time Weather, which adds a 2-24 natural day/night cycle.  Bad Weather that will increase the frequency of Fog, Rain, Snow and Sand Storms.  Radiation Forever will increase the level of radiation across certain levels, making your Gas Mask even more important.  A new mode will also be added, called Iron Mode, which disables the auto-save feature, and progress is only saved between levels.
