Tremendous news for classic horror slasher fans, especially for those that are rather fond of Friday the 13th series as a game for it has just been pitched on Kickstarter. The team behind it are currently seeking $700,000, and has managed to amass more than a quarter of it in merely a day. With 30 more days left to go, the chances are looking pretty good.

If you are looking for a reason to be excited for the game, then it may help knowing that some of the talent behind the game is regarded as legendary in the horror movie community. You’ve got big names such as Sean Sexton Cunningham, Tom Savini and composer Harry Manfredini, who were all linked to Friday the 13th at various points in their career. Most amazingly, the big man himself, Kane Hodder, famous for playing Jason Voorhes will also be lending a hand in the production of the game.

The gameplay will be similar to Evolve from what I can gather, where one player will control the monster and the others the counsellors. The game will be split into different nights which the counsellors will have to survive and Jason to kill. If you would like to see this become a reality, be sure to show the Kickstarter campaign your support.
