Revealed at The Game AwardsFade to Silence follows Ash, a natural but tormented leader in a post-apocalyptic frozen wasteland who must be always on the look out in order to survive against a harsh environment where one wrong move can mean sudden death.

The game will have crafting mechanics where you have to scavenge for equipment in order to upgrade your items and collect vital resources in order to live as even though the unrelenting winter is a daily problem, its the unexpected nature of blizzards that can catch you off guard.

“You’re glad to have found wood; for once, you’ll have a roaring fire in the camp. As your sled wolves race home, you pay no attention to the strange lights in the forest. You’ve done enough for today. The wind suddenly picks up – a blizzard is moving in fast. The voice in your head dares you to keep going,”Come on! You have plenty of time to make it back.” You doubt it, but stopping now means you need to build a shelter—out of that precious wood. The snow begins to fall; you have only a moment to decide. Should you risk it and keep going, or do you play it safe but lose your firewood?”

What was more interesting about the reveal was that there seemed to be these interesting creatures and combat system not seen in most survival focused games, as with games like these you are either hiding from human or wildlife enemies without much of a combat skill. The trailer also highlighted that this may have an actual story with something related to Ash’s son.

The game will be available on steam early access starting December 14th for the PC. The developers did however mention that the game will be coming to consoles once it is complete in 2018.
