Amazing news for PS Vita owners who happen to be adventure fans, as the sequel to one of the best adventure games is coming to the handheld device. And let me tell you, that in my opinion, it is a fantastic decision! PS Vita allows for touch controls, which will make it easier for you to go through the game, by tapping wherever you want! Also, the OLED screen is absolutely amazing, and will definitely highlight the rich and beautiful hand drawn environment that has been a staple of the series ever since the first game!

About the game, according to the press release:

A robbery – a murder – and the beginning of another epic, original Broken Sword adventure.

An adventure that will hurl intrepid lawyer George Stobbart and sassy journalist Nico Collard onto the trail of a murderous conspiracy forged in the cauldron of war-torn Europe. A conspiracy whose roots lie in mysteries older than the written word.

Armed only with logic, integrity and a wry sense of humour – can George and Nico outwit evil forces both ancient and modern and save mankind from disaster? From a Curse forged by the Devil himself?

Broken Sword is one of the world´s best loved adventure series, having been played by over 10 million players and earned exceptional reviews (including a Metacritic score of 91% for Broken Sword – Director’s Cut – iPhone). Broken Sword – the Serpent’s Curse builds on this rich heritage. The game is unashamedly 2D employing classical layout artists from studios such as Disney, Aardman, Universal and many others to create sumptuous, classically drawn backgrounds.

Now those of you that have played Broken Sword before, will know that the franchise has a long history behind it! Ever since I played the first game, I have been captivated by its interesting characters and their exciting scenarios. I followed Stobbart as he took on a goat in Scotland, opposed the secret but deadly Templar order, survived a plane crash and saved a damsel in distress. Well, not really a damsel as the female protagonist, Nico sure knows how to handle herself, but George can get out of any dangerous situation.

These are all the special memories, that have a high-tuned nostalgic sense attached to them in my mind. Not only me, but many gamers grew up playing this series, and it has always been an amazing experience so far. Now, I hope it stays that way and continues to evolve! So far, coming to the Vita is definitely the right choice. Furthermore, the game will also be released on PC, MAC, LINUX, iOS and Android sometimes this year. No news yet, if it will be coming to consoles, but it would be a great thing to see it on PlayStation, where it first got its first big push and where I was introduced to it!
