Back in September a user on Reddit spotted a Google cache on Rockstargames.com that revealed several potential new features for the new gen version of GTA V, which included a 1st-person mode and various other details.  Well now that 1st-person mode has been confirmed after several media outlets got some hands-on time with the game and the kind folks at IGN has shared some juicy details.

You will be able to switch to and from 3rd-person to 1st-person as you please and it is even said that you can customise the viewpoints so that you can switch into 1st-person when in cover, as well as gunning while standing of course.  As seen in the video below, you will also be able to go into 1st-person when driving land and air vehicles or even while walking, swimming, sky diving and so forth.  You can also toggle the aim assist from assisted, semi-assisted or free aim, much like you can with common FPS games.  However if this viewpoint is not your cup of tea, remember that it is completely optional.

While the PC, PS4 and Xbox One versions will feature both 3rd and 1st person viewpoints, it appears that PS4 owners are in for some extra treats with the DualShock 4 controller.  For example the DualShock 4 speaker will play phone calls, the police radio and radio station music.  Also when you are being chased by the police, the light bar will flash red and blue during pursuits.  The touchpad will also be used to not only change viewpoints, but so too will it change weapons.

Both the PS4 and Xbox One version of the game will be running at 1080p/30fps, while the PC version will support 4k resolution.

GTA V will release for the PS4 and Xbox One on November 18th and then a little later on January 27th for the PC.  So now itt will not only come with the various viewpoints, but also extra missions, crowd densities, more wildlife, music stations, improved audio and visuals, and much more.  It was also recently revealed that those who upgrade from the last gen version to the new gen, will be in-store for some exclusive DLC, you can read up on those details here.  Oh and I nearly forgot to mention, that if you pre-order the game now, you will also be gifted with $1m ($500k offline/$500k online) of GTA dollars.
