Guerrilla Games announce Horizon multiplayer games
Following recent rumours, Guerrilla Games has announced the Horizon multiplayer game. Well, kinda.
Back in October 2022, rumours began making the rounds that Guerrilla Games will be working on a multiplayer game set within the same universe as Zero Dawn and Forbidden West. Now, Guerrilla Games has acknowledged those rumours for the first time.

In a tweet from Guerrilla Games, the social media post read: “We are continuing to create epic solo adventures for Aloy. But there is more. A new internal team is developing a separate Online Project set in Horizon’s universe.”
The post continued: “Featuring a new cast of characters, and a unique stylised look, friends will be able to explore the majestic wilds of Horizon together.” So, judging by the job advertisement, the Horizon multiplayer game will be developed by a new team, perhaps in-house and could have a different artistic visual design to that of the mainline series.
Personally, I love the idea of a Monster Hunter-inspired game set with the Horizon universe. What’s more, I also think a Hunger Games-like battle royale and a wave-based mode could be fun. I think it will also be important to at least have cross-play/cross-progressions across PlayStation and PC.
In my review of Horizon Forbidden West, I said it’s: “an absolute triumph” and you should go and play it now if you haven’t already.
It’s likely that this Horizon multiplayer game is years from being released, but it’s quite exciting news nonetheless. What are your thoughts on this news? Let us know across our social media channels.
