The Call of Juarez series is among the most imaginative and beautifully story-driven games currently available in my opinion, and although they have all been developed by Techland, they were published by Ubisoft. However, the deal in place that gave the publishing rights to Ubisoft has ended, and it has returned back to Techland who aim to make good on the franchise.

Adam Lasoń, CPO at Techland Publishing, said: “Developed by Techland, the Call of Juarez series received a great reception and support from a huge community of players. As Techland Publishing moves forward as a leading publisher, we are delighted to welcome Call of Juarez: Gunslinger to our publishing division.” He continued: “We would like to thank Ubisoft for its incredible work publishing the Call of Juarez games. We’ll continue the great efforts of Ubisoft and support the fans of the Call of Juarez universe in the same dutiful and passionate way.

For those of you who are not aware, Techland started publishing games in 2016 under the brand of Techland Publishing, and even distributed Torment: Tides of Numenera in early 2017 and are currently preparing to release Pure Farming 2018 with more third party titles to follow.

Gunslinger, the latest entry in the series is even available at a discount on the Steam store to celebrate this news. The best thing perhaps about this news however, is the fact that we will definitely be getting more Call of Juarez games, but be sure to check out the Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer this Wednesday to scratch your wild west itch in the mean time.
