Halo Wars 2 expansion ‘Awakening the Nightmare’ coming this September #Gamescom2017

During the Microsoft press conference at Gamescom (if you can call it a press conference), a Halo Wars 2 expansion was announced with Awakening the Nightmare, which see’s the return of The Flood, yay!  The expansion will feature a new campaign, complete with a new story and stunning cinematic’s, exclusive new multiplayer leaders, new maps and a new mode.

The new mode in question is Terminus Firefight, which yep you’ve guessed it is a wave-based survival mode.  In Terminus Firefight players will need to build bases under pressure as they fight-off increasing hordes of enemies.  It was also announced Halo Wars 2 will soon have a Spectator Mode and an Arena functionality (which is an Xbox Live tournament feature).

Halo Wars 2: Awakening the Nightmare will be available to those that own the Halo Wars 2 season pass and for individual purchase.  It will release on November 7th alongside the release of the Xbox One X.
