If there’s one thing I think most of us can agree on, it’s enjoying huge Mechs. Be it in films or Anime, but especially in games. Hawken has been out quite some time now. I did initially give it a go, but the free to play model didn’t sit right with me. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t have any particular problem with the system, but it does need to be done right.

That aside, the game itself was quite satisfying. The feeling of moving around in the Mechs was done perfectly, there was however, some small issues, and one big one. There wasn’t much to do.

Since then, Adhesive Games have made a large amount of changes, not least of which is this new update entitled, Invasion. You have a new game mode, a brand new Mech (The Predator) and a huge amount of balance and quality of life changes. Take a look at the full patch notes here to take in all the updates.

There’s even an offline Bot training mode for you to hone your skills on, before taking your Mech online. I had almost forgotten about Hawken in all honesty, but I think it might be time to revisit the arena, to see if there is anything worth sticking around for.
