Here’s a Detailed Look at the World of Next-Gen Outriders from Square Enix

Square Enix has released an in-game engine look at their forthcoming new IP, Outriders which is developed by People Can Fly (Gears of War: Judgement and Bulletstorm).  The video doesn’t reveal any new gameplay, but it does give us a decent understanding of what this next-gen world will look like.

The world of Outriders is set in Enoch and takes place thirty years after a human colony were exposed to what is simply known as the “Anomaly”, which has turned the people into creatures with a lust for blood.  Outriders is also described as being an RPG shooter, which perhaps is inspired by the likes of Destiny and The Division, with a portion of Gears of War thrown in for good measure.

The in-game engine video can be found below and I’ll also include a preview from the Angry Joe team, which gives us a good impression of what to expect in terms of gameplay.

Outriders will release for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X during the Christmas period of this year.
