Heroes Of The Storm: Unlocking The Hero Within

With Hearthstone now in full release and Warlords of Draenor well on the way, Blizz have released a video detailing some of the finer points of their upcoming take on the MOBA genre.

As you can see, there’s a huge amount to be excited about here. The unlock and progression system seem to be catering for the impatient and patient gamers alike. The different hero skins and mounts to collect will no doubt take a bit of doing, so be prepared to sink some serious hours into this one. It’s not clear whether Blizz will be adding more heroes from their games in the future, but given the nature of MOBA games, one would expect that they will at some point.

With the number of heroes available in DotA 2 being over 100 at the time of writing, I think it’s a safe bet that we will see more.

Something great for newcomers is the way the game eases you into playing before throwing you into full blown multiplayer. Having to compete in practice and co-op mode before entering PvP is essential for games with such steep learning curves. Anyone who has played LoL or DotA 2 can surely attest toward the hardship when first trying to break into either game.

If you want to be considered in the upcoming Tech Alpha, you will need to head on over to the official website for details. There is no news of a beta yet, but we will keep you apprised as to the situation.

Are you looking forward to this new MOBA? Will you be sticking with LoL and DotA 2? Let us know below.
