During The Game Awards 2023, we were finally treated to the first trailer for Hideo Kojima’s upcoming Xbox exclusive. Well, kind of.

The Xbox console exclusive from Kojima Productions was first announced in June 2022 and the details were vague. However, we now not only know it will be a horror game but we’ve also been treated to a trailer. Albeit it’s a very vague trailer.

The horror game is called “OD”. Hideo Kojima will also be working alongside filmmaker Jordan Peele of the critically acclaimed horror movies, Get Out and Nope. The name OD is inspired by the concept of overdosing on fear. OD also promises to blur the lines between video games and movies. What’s more, OD will also star Sophia Lillis, Hunter Schaffer and Udo Kier.

“We are working with Xbox Game Studios and their cloud gaming technology to take on the challenge of creating a very unique, immersive, and new style of game – or rather, a new form of media,” said Hideo Kojima, Game Creator and Founder of Kojima Productions.

At this time, OD does not have a release date, but we know it will be released on PC and Xbox Series X|S.
