It’s been a while since we’ve had some good ole rumour articles, so we’ve got quite a meaty one for you here.  Now of course, as with all rumour articles, they must be taken with a pinch of salt.  This one especially, as despite claiming to be the original leak of the TMNT Injustice 2 DLC characters, there are many alleged leaks and quite frankly, some rambling over on the Reddit post.  While I like to think that some of them are true (though if you take enough shots, you’re about to hit a target), it’s also just as likely that many of them won’t be, so please keep that in mind.

Right, let’s begin with the first game that Leakileaks mentions, Street Fighter V.   Early next year as we already know due to it being announced, Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition will not only have all previously released DLC, but they’ll be some new characters in there too, as well as some much requested fan favourites (though Blanka seems to be absent from the rumours sadly).  Included in the Season 3 batch of characters will apparently be Sagat, Sakua, Cody and Sodom.

He also claims that we may even get Roxy from the Final Fight series and/or a Shadaloo Doll, who some may recognise from the Street Fighter comics.  Quite interestingly, while all the previous mentioned characters will be via paid DLC, he claims that we may also get some free characters added as part of an update, which includes Crimson Viper, Q, Necro and Oro.

Going into Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, rumoured to be included in the Season 2 Character Pass cast of characters includes the likes of Star-Lord, Ms. Marvel, Asura (from Asura’s Wrath), Gill and Lady from Devil May Cry 3.  Regina from Dino Crisis and Apollo Justice from Ace Attorney are also mentioned.  That is not all however, because some of his sources claim to have Green Goblin, Wolverine, Cyclops, Psylocke, Magneto, Storm, Deadpool, Doctor Doom, Daredevil, Rashid, Captain Commando, Nina, Deis, Vergil and Akuma.

Now of course the notable thing is with all those names, is just how many are thrown into the hat, which of course, not all of them will be released as DLC.  However with so many mentioned, some of them have to be correct.  The new characters are expected to be released anytime between late 2018 to Spring 2019, along with a new 2 vs. 2 mode.

It’s been two years since we’ve officially heard anything from Capcom in regards to the Resident Evil 2 Remake, but the Reddit user states that the game will still be third-person (and not first-person like RE7) and we may see something by next year (if we’re incredibly lucky, by the end of this year).

Devil May Cry 5 may also be announced at the PlayStation Experience this year and if rumours are to be believed, Dante, Vergil and Nero will be playable.  Now the information I take away from these rumours is the number 5, which of course means if true, that it would be a follow-up to DmC4, which could also mean that it won’t be based upon the controversial reboot (which I really enjoyed).

Now that’s all the Capcom news out of the way, it’s time to get on to the Bandai Namco related set of rumours.  Sticking to the PlayStation Experience, some of his sources say that Soul Calibur VI will also be announced at the event, which would be fantastic if true, as its one of my all-time favourite fighting games.  He only mentions that it will release for PC, PS4 and the Nintendo Switch, but I can’t see it releasing on all those formats, while ignoring the Xbox One.

To wrap up the big ole batch of rumours, Dragon Ball FighterZ may be getting three new DLC characters with Broly, Regular Goku and Regular Vegeta.  Three other DLC characters that were mentioned includes Bardock, Raditz and Goku Black.  A Nintendo Switch port is also said to be in the works, which will apparently release during autumn/winter next year.

To wrap up, we also have some Nintendo Switch related rumours too.  The first Pokémon game on the Switch is expected to be Pokémon Stars (which was already teased by Nintendo a while ago), but it was apparently a Sun and Moon port, used as a tech demo.  Regardless, many of us expect a Pokémon game to finally hit the Switch next year, so hopefully that will be so.  It is also claimed that we will see something of Metroid Prime 4 early next year, perhaps at the January Nintendo Direct.

The last of the Nintendo related rumours can be found below:

  • Bandai Namco is developing a new game for the Nintendo, but we don’t know that that will be (some great specific details there).
  • A new Animal Crossing will release next year.
  • The Nintendo Switch’s Virtual Console will have an overhaul in comparison to what we’ve seen on previous consoles and it will apparently be a subscription based service, though I’d expect it to be tied into the Switch’s yearly online subscription service.
  • Mother 3 will release for the Nintendo Switch at some point
  • Square Enix are developing The World Ends With You 2, which will be exclusive to the Nintendo Switch.
  • Blizzard plan on releasing a port of Hearthstone for the Nintendo Switch, which should be an ideal game to make use out of the consoles portable and touch-screen capabilities.

Right, that puts an end to this long list of rumours.  But what do you believe to be true and just purely fabricated?  Let’s continue on with the speculation in the comments section below.
