One of the most elusive games in Konami’s Metal Gear Solid franchise is finally being freed for its singular platform.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots was originally released for the PlayStation 3 back in 2008 as an exclusive title. Unlike other mainline entries in the series, MGS4 has never left the PS3. It is believed this is due to technical complications when porting the game.

However, as reported by IGN, eagle-eyed gamers have spotted that MGS4 will be included in the currently unannounced Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.2 which also looks to include Metal Gear Solid V and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker with likely other bonus features.

While there is no release date for Vol.2 at this time, just like the upcoming Master Collection Vol.1, it will be released on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.

Speaking of which, the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.1 which includes OG PS1 MGS1, MGS2 and MGS3, as well as other bonus features will be released this year on 24 October.

In related news, a full remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater was also recently announced and it’s coming to PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The remake currently has no release date.
