First they showcase an excellent trailer with beautiful music, then they reveal Sean Bean as the narrator and now, they have gone ahead and once again pulled at my heart strings by revealing that Mary Elizabeth McGlynn is their lead vocalist, who should be a name very familiar to fans of Silent Hill. I truly cannot commend IMGN.PRO enough, as they have gone ahead and chosen some of the best talent possible. They could have gone for the most expensive or overly famous cast, but by following their heart, and ear in this matter they have managed to create an impressive little team.

If you don’t know who Mary Elizabeth McGlynn is, she is without a doubt one of the finest singers in the videogame industry. She is the woman, who along with Akira Yamaoka gave the Silent Hill series a soul, and we all know Silent Hill is known for its amazingly beautiful music and songs.

Mary Elizabeth McGlynn immediately came to our minds when we began the search for the voice that suits the specific mood of Kholat. And when she agreed to work with us the first takes in recording studio sounded great straight away.” – said Lukasz Kubiak, IMGN.PRO’s co-founder. Kubiak added “The satisfaction coming from this cooperation is also a personal thing for me. It’s an amazing feeling to hear the voice of McGlynn in your own game, especially if you’re a devoted fan of the Silent Hill series.

According to the press-release, The well known American singer’s voice can be heard in one of several songs that will be available on games soundtrack. The effects of the recent recording session, along with the rest of the soundtrack by composer Arkadiusz Reikowski, are currently being implemented in the game. If you want to get a taste of what the songs will sound like, check out the teaser above. She can still make your heart stop with her powerful and mysterious voice.

The game is based on the actual tragic events that took place on Dyatlov Pass, where after a failed expedition by a group of young students and their mysterious deaths, what happened could only be described as unnatural, ushering an era of myths and speculation for what is now called “The Devil’s Pass Incident“. Be sure to pre-order Kholat from GMG if you are a psychological horror fan and would like to score a bonus comic book.
