Manufacturer ASUS have teamed up with the developers of Kinect’s motion technology, PrimeSense. The device will be similar Kinect but for the PC platform under the name ‘WAVI Xtion’, however one should pronounce that.

It’s primary goal is to allow users to control their multimedia using gestures. There will also be an “Xtion Online Store” shortly after release where developers can sell their own applications for the device.

It does make you wonder though why Microsoft didn’t buy out PrimeSense considering the amount of money spent on marketing Kinect. The more companies PrimeSense work with, the less original that Kinect will seem.
