Update 28/07/17: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is now available across all formats as a standalone in digital and physical form, including PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Update 26/06/17:  Activision has now officially announced that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is available as a standalone product with a new launch trailer (seen above).  It’s available now for PlayStation 4, then it will be made available for PC and Xbox One this time next month.

As expected it does appear that the Variety Map Pack is not included in the standalone, which may seem a little odd as its pretty much expected nowadays that remasters would include any previously released DLC.

Original Story 22/06/17: It’s happened again, yet more evidence has leaked indicating that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will be getting a standalone release, as revealed by CharlieIntel.com.  The latest leaked information features the retail case with a price point of $39.99 (so perhaps £29.99-£34.99 in the UK) from US retailer Target.

Judging from the images provided, there was no sign of the £14.99 Variety Map Pack being included, which is disappointing, though the game will surely feature the micro-transaction fuelled Supply Drops.  As of now, Modern Warfare Remastered has only been available in premium versions of Infinite Warfare, such as the Legacy Edition.  The images also show a release date of June 27h for PS4 and July 27th for Xbox One, which do soon very soon, but they certainly fall in-line with Sony’s timed-exclusivity deal with Activision.

If this retail case leak is genuine and it sure seems to be, hopefully we can expect an official announcement by Activision in the coming days.  In the meantime, you can read our review of Modern Warfare Remastered here and while you’re at it, here’s our review of Infinite Warfare.
