Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced that the creative game inspired by the ever-popular Minecraft; Lego Worlds, now has online multiplayer.  The new added multiplayer component will allow to players to explore each other’s world that they have crafted together, as well as engaging in co-op activities.

Below is what Head of Production Jonathan Smith, and Vice President of Digital Games for the Lego Group, Niels Jørgensen had to say on this newly added Lego Worlds feature.

Building and playing with friends is at the core of LEGO® play and we’re excited to bring online multiplayer into LEGO® Worlds,” said Jonathan Smith. “The online multiplayer experience offers unlimited possibilities for players to explore one another’s worlds, build and share creations, and just have fun together.

Jørgensen added “We are very pleased to see how LEGO® Worlds has grown after a year in Early Access,” Says Niels Jørgensen. “It’s a fantastic way to engage with LEGO® play digitally, and we are excited for the added social component that online multiplayer will bring to the gaming community.”

A new trailer and a batch of new screenshots have been released for Lego Worlds, both of which you can find below.  The game is still in its Steam Early Access stage and I’m certainly hoping that it will make its way over to consoles one day soon.
