Contradiction Films, the talented studio behind the amazing Mortal Kombat: Legacy, will be helming the live action mini-series version of Keiji Inafune’s Might No. 9 which was extremely successful on kickstarter.

According to Tim Carter, who had written the amazing story to Sleeping Dogs and is the studio’s producer, the biggest challenge they had was with finding a way to translate a Japanese cultured work for the North American audience. However, when Mr. Inafune himself sent some notes over to Tim Carter, he was won over by how good his vision was.

I’ve done a number of things with Japanese companies and sometimes the cultural translation doesn’t really work all that well. You look at their ideas and think ‘okay, how am I really going to make this work for a North American audience?‘” Carter explained. “I was a little apprehensive about that until I got his [Inafune’s] notes and I’m like, ‘dude, you should be working at Pixar!’ It’s so good. We’re really, really excited about it.

Now, it is left to see how Contradiction will tackle such an interesting product, and project based on their own vision. Whatever happens, we hope it does for the best! Stay tuned on Push-Start for updates as the go live.
