Max Payne 3‘s multiplayer mode is set to get a whole batch of new content over the coming months, kicking off with the Local Justice pack which arrives July 3rd for the Xbox 360 and PS3, with PC users able to download it from July 17th.

The pack will contain three new maps for the various competitive modes of Max Payne 3 as well as a number of other goodies (Ssee below), and since it arrived a little later than the planned June release, Rockstar will be offering it up at a discount for those who grab it in the first week. It will cost 480 MSP for the Xbox 360, and £4.25 for PS3 and PC users during this period, after which it will return to its full price of 640 MSP or £5.49.

As well as the three new maps, it’ll also come packed with a new weapon, a new item, a new multiplayer faction, as well as new achievements, trophies, or Social Club accomplishments depending on your platform of choice.

• 55th Battalion HQ map for all game modes
• The Imperial Palace/Departure Lounge maps for Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Payne Killer
• Light Fingers Item for faster looting
• M4 Assault Rifle with attachments
• São Paulo Police Faction with related avatar customization options

Of course, if you bought the season pass for the game, available for 2400 MSP or £19.99, you’ll be able to get this and all future packs for no extra charge. If you fancy completing your collection of the various content that was offered up at various retailers for pre-ordering the title, you’ll be able to purchase (or free with season pass) all the following content on July 3rd:

• Cemetery Map:  160 MSFT Points / £1.59 PSN
• Silent Killer Loadout Pack:  160 MSFT Points / £1.59 PSN
• Pill Bottle Item:  80 MSFT Points / £0.79 PSN
• Deadly Force Burst:  80 MSFT Points / £0.79 PSN
• Classic Max Payne Character:  80 MSFT Points / £0.79 PSN

(PC players will also be able to get the pre-order and retail DLC on July 17th when the Local Justice Pack launches for PC)

Even more interesting is the news that there’s seven planned packs (including Local Justice) on the way for Max Payne 3. While most of the upcoming packs including: Disorganized Crime, Hostage Negotiation, Painful Memories and Trickle Down Economics are all map packs, you’ll be getting new modes with Deathmatch Made In Heaven, and an ambiguously named Co-Op pack with New York Minute. These are all set to arrive this year, as Rockstar are heavily pushing the multiplayer aspect of the title.
