Lords Of The Fallen 2 Is Releasing In 2023, Apparently

Remember Lords of the Fallen? You’d be forgiven if you haven’t, especially when it concerns its apparent sequel.
The original Lords of the Fallen was released in 2014 and was perhaps one of the first Soulslike games to be released. In fact, Lords of the Fallen scored quite favourably in our review with a very respectable 8.0.
However, in 2015 the sequel to Lords of the Fallen was announced and it was supposed to be released in 2017. Obviously, that release window was not met. So, it would be easy to forget that the sequel was ever going to happen.
Yet, it seems that Lords of the Fallen 2 is still set for release, believe it or not. The re-confirmation of its existence was revealed in a recent management report. Apparently, Lords of the Fallen 2 is set to release in 2023 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Previously due to its much-delayed release window, it was set for a last-gen release.

“This franchise has strong market recognition in the Fantasy RPG genre. With a major focus on creating an immersive world, combined with genre-leading combat, our objective is to ensure Lords of the Fallen 2 fulfils its vision as CI Games’ most ambitious soulslike project to date.”
The report also mentions some of the improvements that we can expect to see in Lords of the Fallen 2. For example, an “a new dark-fantasy aesthetic in keeping with the prevailing action-RPG tone, alongside a fully revised, more challenging combat system,” as well as its “vitally important that we re-engage this audience with the upcoming entry.”
