Many have been looking forward to Lords of the Fallen, especially with it being an early alternative to From Software’s Bloodborne, which is set to release February 2015 exclusively to the PS4.  While Lords of the Fallen appears to be in the Dark Souls mould, it still wants to make its own unique stamp in the industry.  So when members of the press and public got a chance to play the preview build at events such as EGX 2014, it left some feeling a little underwhelmed.

Our very own Brett Claxton previewed Lords of the Fallen from EGX and he was one of those that felt underwhelmed, though he could see the games potential.  To be fair to the game, there appears to be a lot in it that you perhaps may not be able to experience in the previews, unlike if you purchased the game and got to spend more time with it, learning how it plays and how its world works.

So this brings me on to this developer diary, in which the games executive producer Tomasz Gop talks us through some of the concerns raised with the early previews and helps put our mind at ease.  I think this is a smart move by CI Games as many would have perhaps been unfairly put-off buying the game from the previews that they played.  I hope that many other developers/publishers take a similar approach in the near future.  Also, CI Games has released another developer diary video that looks at the “Design & Implementation” of the game, you can find both videos below.

Lords of the Fallen releases next week for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
