In reply to the insurmountable internet rage that swept recently over the ending to the Mass Effect trilogy, Bioware have today announced that free DLC will be released to try and appease upset fans.

Entitled “Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut”, This DLC will expand upon the original ending that shipped with the game, introducing new epilogue content and will allow players “deeper insights into how their personal journey concludes”. Whether this means all the choices that have been made leading up to the finale will finally have an impact over the course of things is yet to be seen, but at least Bioware have responded to the outrage while still being holding their artistic vision for the series somewhat intact by not changing the ending altogether.

Personally I didn’t hate the ending. Disappointed perhaps, it felt a little wrong and was unsatisfying after 150+ hours of investment, but hopefully this extra content may just make the ending what everyone was hoping for when its released sometime this summer.
