Up until now, following its initial delay, we’ve only had a Q1 2017 release to go by, but now we have a set and (for now) confirmed release date.  Mass Effect: Andromeda will release for PC, PS4 and Xbox One o Tuesday March 21st in North America and the 23rd across Europe.  But seriously, when are these separated worldwide release dates going to come to an end?  We all know damn well that most regions/countries can have simultaneous release dates, so please publishers, stop this.

That’s enough of my moaning now, as we can now look forward to knowing that Mass Effect: Andromeda has a solid release date, after the news was announced via MassEffect.com by the General Manager at BioWare; Aaryn Flynn.

Mass Effect: Andromeda will be powered by the almighty Frostbite Engine and the game will focus on protagonist brother and sister duo, the Ryder siblings.  Mass Effect: Andromeda’s story will begin at around the time of Mass Effect 2’s conclusion, set in the year 2185, just a year prior to when the Reapers invaded the Milky Way in 2186.  The main base of the game however, is expected to take place about 600 years after the Reaper Wars when the Ryder’s awake from a Cryo-Sleep  in the year 2785 and it will be your role to search the galaxy for a new home for mankind, all with an epic story and intergalactic dangers to face head-on.

Also at the Nvidia CES Keynote many games were on show as Nvidia demonstrated what we can expect from the company this year and one of those games was of course Mass Effect: Andromeda.  And with it came a new gameplay video (above) and a batch of new screenshots (below), which you can find below.  In the gameplay footage we not only get to see some combat, but we also get a glimpse of the inventory and skill-tree system.

Now I think I might get reacquainted with the Mass Effect trilogy after it was recently made backwards compatible on Xbox One.
