Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes was without a doubt one of the best optimized games last year, as it ran way better than it looked, and it looked absolutely breathtaking. So, even after the initial announcement of the PC edition getting a delay compared to its console counterparts, a lot of gamers were not fussed. However, with a new announcement they just might get excited, as the game will now release alongside the console versions on September 1 for PC.

“We initially did not think it would be possible to get such an epic game out onto PC in time for launch alongside its console counterparts, but all involved have worked diligently to meet the demands of our PC consumers,” commented Tomotada Tashiro, President of Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. “Now PC users will be able to explore the vibrant and beautifully-realised locations and set-pieces that elevate METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN beyond all other action titles. We feel confident that Steam users will be satisfied with the contents we will provide for the Steam version.”

Still, do note that the online component of the game will still arrive later on the PC as it needs a little more refining. Fortunately, compared to the scope of the game’s campaign, I’d be surprised if most gamers even finish it by the time MGO is ready, January next year.

The game will follow Big Boss on one of his most exhilarating journeys, where he will tested and tried yet again, truly defining him as the character we know and love today.

Metal Gear Solid V:The Phantom Pain will be available for the PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360
