4A Games, the developer of Metro:Last Light has decided to put multiplayer on hold to 100% concentrate on single player, IGN reports. A small team was apparently working on prototypes for multiplayer, but has now joined the rest of the development team. Personally I think this is very good news, when I look at games such as Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception or Splinter Cell: Conviction, it’s clear that more time was spent on delivering a stand out multiplayer mode, makes sense in one regard as you want players to constantly return to the game. But for me the single player suffers in the process, leading to overall disappointments of the game. Metro: Last Light looks very promising and the E3 demo was groundbreaking, from the looks of it 4A games knows this and knows that they could be on to something big.

It was noted though that development of the multiplayer could carry one once the game has been shipped, which is also good news in my opinion as long as they don’t charge money to download it. What are your thoughts on this though? Let us know in the comments below.

Check out the E3 demo below.
